Jazz Denmark has also become internationally acclaimed within the world of jazz, with names like the bassist Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen (NHØP) and trumpeter Palle Mikkelborg. In the 1960s and 70s, the ‘Montmatre’ in Copenhagen was one of the most important jazz venues in Europe.

Many of these newcomers can be experienced live at the Roskilde Festival - one of the biggest music festivals in the world.
