VISUAL ARTS

Danish artists have been active in Denmark for hundreds of years but for a long period it was a matter of only a few individual artists and in no sense a real Danish school of art. This was not to emerge until relatively late at the beginning of the nineteenth century when the Danish Golden Age started.
